Huacaya Alpacas Sold

Sprinkles is an example of what we’re striving for here at Sopris Alpaca Farm. Out of a champion female, and by the one and only Matrix.

Promise is a true black foundation girl who is a terrific mom and a great milk producer. Currently bred to STLR Comet you are 99.9% guaranteed a black cria. Promise has created cria with sound conformation, beautiful brightness and crimp. This is a girl you will want for your herd. Promise has a very promising son at side, by Sojourner's Malibu Bay.

Chenoa is a very well conformed girl, with a pleasing head and a perfect bite. She has excellent bone, and a robust, well proportioned frame. She has good density, decent fineness with a medium frequency crimp, culminating in a very bright fleece with nice architecture. Her sire is Greener Pastures Taka Number, who never disappoints. Her dam, Painted Sky Tonches, is a robust daughter of mega champion Painted Sky Apres Vous.

Sparkles was a bit of a late bloomer for us. Although she always had a beautiful fleece, her 3rd fleece came in remarkably well, so much so that we added her to our show string. She bannered in the white huacaya females her first time out, as a two year old. Laurel Shovelin was the judge and made the comment that this was the first time she had ever awarded a banner to a female that she knew was pregnant. She is very laid back, and was 2 months pregnant for this first show, in Oklahoma. Most breeders simply will not take pregnant females to a show, but I personally have no problem with it, if the animal's demeanor is such that virtually nothing bothers them. All 5 of my offspring of Crescent Moon's Sizzlin Shak have this type of demeanor, something that I place a very high value on, as I age. SOPRIS SS Sparkles is bred with Snowmass Matrix Belvedere for a fall 2023 cria.
